What We Have Here Is A Failure To Communicate #2

                   I have a unique and difficult challenge. I am fighting mass trivia. In this era of novel distractions, writing for a general audience has become an exercise in mass marketing. Blogging takes my work into a durable storage, but it quickly looses it's immediate timely significance. My blogger tags my work by keywords in the topic sentence. Most of our interests are thus prioritized by accessibility and preference. If someone has something really important to say, does anyone get to hear it? Significance is attributable by an "Authoritation by Proxy." Someone else is supposed to give weight to your assertions for you. (Even the word "Authoritation" is not considered a word in English.) It's very normal for people to rely on others to tell us what is worth reading. Much "Interest Based Learning" is just curiosity, but there's nothing like word of mouth referrals to generate buzz about a new book, movie or art. Large corporations have huge advertising budgets. In this era of viral statements, sound bites and trending; there isn't a lot of available free attention. Art now days, more than ever has unavoidable business realities worked right into creative execution.

                   Generally, we're reading for or writing to a specific audience. I must edit, edit, edit. Rewriting, redrafting and re-editing is so important if I want to reach an unknown audience. A drive to self critique, can be an advantage. But, "Angles, Handles, Hooks, Gimmicks and Genera are the closest thing we have to tracking a literary work toward publication. Marketing, public relations, social networking and limited liability incorporation, are all inevitable responsibilities that go with any real success as a published author.

                   My work, although about the "Speculative Arts" like psychic reading, is not just a creative proposition. I am working in very unfamiliar esoteric areas. There has been far more misinformation about my craft than clear analysis on the tools and applications of psychic reading. Including my comparisons of other traditions and their disciplines have created open dialogues about all the other diagnostic sciences. It's never advisable to presume authority on an "Unknown." The best I'm able to do is to identify the areas of controversy, and to shape models we use to examine the predictable uncertainties. I myself don't buy into "Deterministic Prognostication." I believe that even when making predictions done correctly, that's not speculation anyways. I have tried to incorporate statistical mechanics to plot out elements of any workable probability matrix. Mapping out the categorical structure in any predictive model is always biased by a personal preferential indexing and selective reasoning. {As seen in the choice of predictive mediums, Tarot, Wall Street Journal, Astrological Chartings or even Fox News} What's a speculator to do? Basically "What We Have Here Is A Failure To Communicate." Let's fix that.

Social Valences Exploring Social Boundary Definitions

                                                          
                        Social Recursion is that process of self definition by comparative mutual exclusion. A.K.A "I am searching for the polar opposite of me." {Not my profile. Just an illustration for what the actual norm is for most men. Surprise!} Objective: marriage. "I am this, then therefore you must be that." "I will not able to be those things that I want from you." "Will you please complete me?" (General incompatibility.)

                        Healthy Socially Recursive Boundary Definitions can be Generally Recursive. (Like by series of chain successions infinitely reiterated, "Susan is much smarter than me, but I'm much smarter than Bob who is even smarter than Jennifer." "And by the way Jennifer is brilliant!") Or can be ordered by the orders of a Primitive Recursion, as in the case of a one time absolute un redefined social boundary identification, A.K.A. "Me Tarzan, you Jane.")

                        Social recursion is therefor often fraught with lots of silly self defining boundary definitions of our own unexpressed and often unrealistic expectations. Most men, (in fact most people) are very hung up on fantasies of dominance. "Men may want to initiate sex, (Especially if we are normal,) but sex therefore is then the woman's prerogative only. As it is for us guys, we must be prepared to stop at any time, we must defer to those people who are most vulnerable. Ironically, most people want to believe that men never feel vulnerable. This is nonsense. Social recursion phenomena is often used to rationalize very strange popular prejudices, sexual ignorance and even political bigotry.

                        The Primitively Recursive one time compact boundary distinctions of basic polarities are;                                        Boy / Girl
                        Young /Old
                        Strong / Weak
                        Top / Bottom
                      Rich / Poor
And so on.
                       Generally Recursive social boundary definitions often in the form of a Family Tree.
                       I have two parents.
                       I have four grandparents.                      {Boundaries squared}
                       I have eight great grandparents.
And so on.
                       I have one spouse.                
                       I have two children.                              {Boundaries compounded factorially}
                       I have six neighbors.
                       I have twenty-four spheres of social contact that have their own independent boundary conditions.
And so on.

                       In examining Social Valences we will be concerned primarily with the Primitively Recursive Social Boundary Definitions. This is simply because that at the core of all self defining social distinctions even things like chains of command or even meritocracy are reducible from orders of succession to comparative polarities. All Groups and Group Dynamics can be viewed as a series of Dyads. Individuals are compared to the groups, the group is compared to the individual. People are compared within the group. This may seem like just so much public relations math. It is. The self is always the most primary point of departure when we are identifying social boundaries. One into the many. (And from the many we learn as one.)

                       Social Valences are most interesting when we come to the "Opposites Attraction." The joys of living are in a dynamic universe. Although opposites are relative, we also must deal with others valences. Between any 2 people, one of them is always going to be more rational than the other one who will invariably be more passionate. These values can change when those same two people are with completely other people. Polarity is ta key for understanding the asymmetry of Idealized Social Recursions with charged valences of attraction. This is in no way limited to just sexual attractions or gender. It's just that gender is the first of these most primary of Primitive Recursions. Youth follows in reverence the aged. The rich seek to nourish the poor. The strong seek to protect the weak. Etc.

             Let us imagine a Guardian Fellowship, a community of Patrons. We need to protect each other. I see the vacuum that is created by jailing the Adult Black Male Public, generally for nothing more than minor drug offenses. This is totally disruptive to the upbringing of the next generation.
                     We need our adult male role models. Integrity is accountability, showing up. People need to know who to trust. We need to make ourselves trustworthy so we can protect each other. And again, "We Love You."      

The Communication of Dreams

                Time is a surface. All of our experience dreams, maybe make us able to see the foundations of daily life. Each dream is a fantasy, be it good or bad. Dreams can be the reflections of reality, but fortunately, they don't always have to come true. Our human psyche is utterly static and does not like to move. Luckily dreams communicate for us. Without any pretense of expectation, "Any life can be timeless." We can succeed or fail. Live or die, or just keep repeating endless painful remembering. But dreams however are forever. So our dreams never really have to happen. Hopefully.

                 Time is helping me remember my oldest dreams. Look into my personal "Mirror of Karma." For all the wrong I have done, my dreams have always been true for me. Some dreams can be universal:
          Running on all fours like a dog, then upright running into lifting off the ground. Flying out of the world into somewhere a great distance away only to come crashing down back into the body.
          Or the one where we are being chased, and the path to escape becomes a trap. We may even get used to it and start to realize it's just a dream and we try to wake up.
          Also the dream of walking down endless city streets, corner after corner. Beautiful buildings in every direction. Heavily over populated streets. This is a very popular dream today about the future.
          And then there's the one about going through door after door, only to come back to always remembering, you've already checked that last door that you just went through again. You keep trying to check to see if the doors leading upward will get you back outside again. Back to the beach, to the mountains.
          I still have those dreams about skipping classes and failing tests, and the report card I didn't want to show. Speaking as a stress tester, I always find it strange where I actually find the bad bugs in our commonly used technologies.

                  Our language of dreams isn't that hard to interpret, It's just most people jump to the wrong conclusions. In fact dreams aren't personal issues at all. Your internal theatre is just a self regulator. It's definitely possible to train yourself to remember the dreams that have happened to other people. There seems to be this micro flash feature to the human dream apparatus. In a reflex mental process, speed ceases to be the limiting factor to a conscious processing. Generally, and for good reason, we are of necessity required to maintain a grounded functional life. So we are instructed as children to get our heads out of the clouds.

                  But dreams are not the sort of things to be taken likely. The dreams of the collective are rarely ever trivial. Once we imagine, there is a shared space in which to interact. Your face is a blank screen. We have been here a thousand times before. I feel like I know you. Interspace is the final frontier. Dream on my children of the web.
