All of the little Silver Charm Offerings were originally nailed to the Chapel Altars of Catholic Churches in Mexico as offerings to Mary, Jesus or another significant saint or martyr to whom prayers were addressed. Each of these little talisman are in the form of the body part afflicted or of a commemorative marker in gratitude for a particular boon or gift attributable to divine mercy. These then were collected from the churches when they were scheduled to be torn down, and added to this handy Crucifix now selling for a tidy $110.00. Very pretty.
